Little Guppies Playgroup

Little Guppies Playgroup is the children's ministry of Rockingham Mandurah Lutheran Church and meets weekly during the school term on Friday mornings in the chapel. Little Guppies runs from 9am (doors open at 8:30am) until 10:30am.

Little Guppies is designed for children up to the age of 5 years. During our morning gatherings there will be a time of singing, story time, playing and morning tea. We kindly ask that families bring a piece of fruit along for us to share during morning tea time.

INFO FOR PARENTS

OUR VOLUNTEERS + SAFETY MEASURES

Our team is made up of a Connect Team, Helper Team, and Kitchen Team. Our volunteers range in age, and though some of our volunteers are quite young, all volunteers are reviewed for suitability and receive clear behavioural guidelines. All volunteers sign a Code of Conduct which is in place to protect our attendees and also our volunteers, creating a safe community all round. Additionally, all volunteers over 18yo must have a valid Working With Children Check as well as each completed Professional Standards training, which includes an online intensive particularly related to working ethically with children.
Our teams are overseen by Manuela Swift who is the Children's Ministry Facilitator as well as Pastor Steve Liersch the congregational pastor at RMLC. We are accountable to the Leadership Council of Rockingham Mandurah Lutheran Church, and ultimately the Professional Standards Unit of the Lutheran Church of Australia.

WHAT WE TEACH & how

Families from all backgrounds & all religions (or no religion) are welcome at Little Guppies Playgroup. We are a Christian ministry, overseen by a Christian church. Though all our volunteers are practicing Christians, we absolutely understand you can't make someone believe something, but we do provide an opportunity for our families to hear the love that God has for each of us. Each week, during circle and singalong time there will be a variety Christian and non christian songs and at times a bible story. You may also find that at times some of our craft activities and toys do have a biblical theme to them.

Playgroup Morning structure

Though no playgroup morning is exactly the same, most mornings we will have a time of free play, singalongs and morning tea. These may look different depending the type of monthly theme we have planned. Please see below the general running of our playgroup

8:30 AM - Door open and sign in begins
9:00 AM - Welcome, Singalong & Story time
9:30 AM - Grace & Morning tea
10:00 AM - Free Play
10:30 AM - Playgroup concludes
